## What does 「ではありません」 mean?

This means:

**A is B.**

This means:

**A is NOT B.**

Think about this.

Your friend asks:

'Are you a teacher?'

You are a student.

You answer:

**わたし は せんせい ではありません。**

'I am not a teacher.'
