いつ

## What it means いつ simply means "**when**." You use it to ask about time - when something happens, happened, or will happen.

## When to use it Unlike question words that pair with a specific particle, いつ usually goes straight in front of the verb or adjective with **no particle attached** - just いつ行きますか (when are you going?) or いつですか (when is it?). You can still add other particles after it for extra meaning, like いつから (from when) or いつまで (until when).

## Don't confuse it with Beginners sometimes try adding へ or に after いつ the way they would after a place word, producing something like いつに行きますか, which sounds off. Just remember: いつ usually stands alone, right before the verb.
