〜から〜まで

## What it means **から** means "from" and **まで** means "to" or "until." Used together, から〜まで〜 marks the starting point and the ending point of something, whether that's a time or a place.

## When to use it Attach から right after the starting point and まで right after the ending point: 9時から5時まで ("from 9 to 5") for time, or 東京から大阪まで ("from Tokyo to Osaka") for places. You can also use just から or just まで on its own if you only need to mention the start or the end.

## Don't confuse it with Don't confuse **まで** (until/to, marking an endpoint) with **に** (marking a single point, like a time something happens). 5時まで働きます means "I work until 5 o'clock" (the activity keeps going up to that point), while 5時に働きます means "I work at 5 o'clock" (a single moment) — a subtle but important difference for beginners.
