〜から(理由)

## What it means This から connects two sentences to show cause and effect: "because [reason], [result]." It's the everyday way to explain why something happened or why you're doing something.

## When to use it Put the reason first, attach から right after it, and follow with the result: 雨が降っているから、家にいます ("it's raining, so I'm staying home"). から can attach after plain verbs, adjectives, or nouns/な-adjectives + だ, and works in both casual and polite speech.

## Don't confuse it with There's another から you'll meet elsewhere in N5 that means "from," marking a starting point in time or place, like 九時からです ("it's from 9 o'clock"). Same word, completely different job: after a whole sentence, から gives a reason; after a single noun, から marks a starting point.
