〜ましょう

## What it means ましょう means "**let's**" - you're proposing to do something together, and you're assuming the other person is already on board.

## When to use it Take the ます-form of a verb, drop ます, and add ましょう: 行きます → 行きましょう (let's go). It's often used as a direct suggestion, or as the natural reply once someone has accepted an invitation made with ませんか.

## Don't confuse it with ましょう and ませんか both propose doing something together, but the feeling is different. ませんか leaves room for the other person to say no ("won't you...?"), while ましょう sounds more confident, as if the plan is basically already decided ("let's..."). If you're not sure someone wants to join in, ませんか is the gentler choice.
