JLPT N5 · Grammar
Highlighted parts are the fixed pieces of the pattern; the rest changes with the word you attach it to.
## What it means ても means 'even if ~' or 'no matter how much ~', it says something stays true regardless of a certain condition.
## When to use it Attach も to the **て-form** of a verb or adjective: 食べても ('even if I eat'), 高くても ('even if it's expensive'). It often pairs with words like どんなに ('no matter how') and shows up in the common pattern てもいいです ('it's okay even if...', meaning 'you may...').
## Don't confuse it with Beginners sometimes confuse ても with the plain て-form used for connecting actions in order ('and then'). Plain て just links two ideas in sequence, while ても adds 'even if/even though', showing the second part happens **despite** the first. Compare 忙しくて行けません ('I'm busy, so I can't go') with 忙しくても行きます ('Even if I'm busy, I'll go').
